Couples, who are trying to conceive, know the difficulties of going through the fertility treatment. Now, you can make this big task a little easier, using Apple's App for that.

"IVF Baby in the Making" application was developed by Kim Konopa, a mother and designer, who knows, what it's like to undergo invitro fertilization. She designed the iPhone app together with her 22-year old son, who is also one of her work partners.

The application consists mainly of a calendar, where you can organize all the doctor's appointments, medications and other important things when you are trying to get pregnant.

Women can also share their experience with other people in the built in blog and find out lots of useful information like how to inject in a resource section. The IVF Baby in the Making app also helps couples organize their budget since the IVF treatment is not quite cheap. The budget tracker monitors the remaining budget and keeps a running balance.

You can also upload the first photos of your unborn baby and share it on Facebook or send it via email. Konopa picked up the sound of lullaby as a ring tone alert for future parents so that they will feel more motivated.

Kim Konopa consulted her reproductive endocrinologist while developing the baby making application.

It seems that men do not have much time left to have a baby as their biological clock starts ticking in their mid 30s. Scientists found that chances of successful pregnancy drops significantly if a man is over 35 years old and are much lower if he is over 40 years old.

The findings of the French study of 12,200 couples undergoing fertility treatment was presented at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology conference. It says that paternal influence becomes even more important than earlier thought.
The researchers at the Eylau Centre for Assisted Reproduction in France studied couples having artificial insemination as a treatment for infertility between January 2002 and December 2006.

Scientists discovered the novel way to predict whether a man has greater chances to experience fertility problems, by measuring the anogenotal distance.

Anogenital distance or AGD is the distance between the anus and the underside of the scrotum. Men with AGD that is shorter that 2 inches are more likely to have low sperm count, which becomes the most common cause of male fertility problems.

During the study conducted by the University of Rochester Medical Center, the scientists took measurements of the AGD in 126 men born in or after 1988. The results showed that shorter AGD increases male fertility problems by seven times.

It is still not clear what is the cause of short AGD in men, but previous studies suggest that exposure to certain chemicals such as phthalates during pregnancy may result in shorter AGD in boys.
