Excessive salt intake is one of the main causes of high blood pressure. That's why many doctors would first recommend you to control the amount of salt you take.

The Japanese company Compact Impact decided to introduce its electronic Salinity Monitor Spoon that helps to determine if your food is too salty or not. This health gadget is mostly suitable for liquids, such as soups or sauces. While watching over your salt intake can be pretty tricky, for many elderly people it can be even more difficult since many of them have the inhibited sense of taste.

The Salinity Monitor Spoon is heat-resistant to 140 to 176 degrees (F) or 60-80 80 degrees (C). there are three points of indication for salinity: 0.6-0.8%, 0.9-1.1%, 1.2 and up. The results are displayed on the spoon surface.
