Smart T-shirt Monitors Your Workout Activity

Feb 09, 2012
Many fitness products developed nowadays can considerably improve your health and well-being and replace a fitness instructor.

One of such health gadgets is Squid, a T-shirt equipped with electromyography sensors that help you track your workouts. The sensors monitor your muscle activity, then sends all the data on internet portal with the help of smartphone app. The app records the number of repetitions of exercises and watches over your heart rate. Your progress is stored and can be viewed on the internet portal.

The Squid was developed by students from Northwestern University, hoping that the T-shirt would be useful for professional athletes and fitness enthusiasts. The workout monitoring shirt is expected to be available in 2-3 years, but those who do not want to wait that long, can use a great number of other intelligent gadgets for tracking their physical activity.
