Weather-Predicting Toothpaste

Jan 14, 2011
We live in a world, where technology makes things for us. And if you are one of those people, who want to know what the weather is like without even looking out your window, there is toothpaste gadget that is designed especially for you.

The toothpaste that is called "Tastes Like Rain" is a prototype developed by David Carr, scientist at MIT's Media Lab. The idea is that your toothpaste will change its taste and color according to the weather forecast. The toothpaste dispenser is connected to a computer that tells forecast with the help of custom software and changes the taste of the toothpaste. The mint flavor indicates cold weather, the cinnamon predicts warmer days and blue stripes signal rain.

The scientist is working at improving the technical specifications, and probably the device will work on low-cell battery. Perhaps, such toothpaste will be useful for kids, who always need some encouragement to make teeth brushing regular.
